1. Cook

Learning to cook is so important for every kiddo.

I let my daughter (and my boys too) help me in the kitchen as much as possible.

2. Bake

We have been baking together since my daughter was about 3 or 4 and it has created some great memories.

Our favorite things to bake are Christmas goodies.

3. Play Cards

Do you play cards? What is your favorite game?

My daughter’s favorite used to be Slap Jack but we have advanced to Rummy.

There are so many board games to choose from these days.

Mall Madness is so much fun for us right now.

5. Watch a Movie

This is one of my favorite activities to do with my daughter. Even though we are talking, she has no problem snuggling up with me still.

We have watched a variety of movies together but we really enjoy these movies: Spirit Untamed, Meet Me in St. Louis, and White Christmas.

7. Fashion Plates

My daughter first got Fashion Plates when she was 5 and has been a hit ever since.

We take these out often still and design clothes together.

8. Do a Holiday Art Project

Pop on over to Pinterest and pick out a holiday art project to do together.

Of all the great ideas on there, my kids have always had a blast with the ones where they could put their hands or feet in the paint.

9. Sew

There are a million sewing projects to choose from and YouTube seems to have a tutorial for them all. Thankfully, I use those.

My daughter has made pillowcases, holiday wall hangings, and even napkins that can be ironed into the shapes of Christmas trees.

10. Scrapbook

My idea of scrapbooking is using a site like Snapfish to create a photo book.

But my girl, she has been loving putting together an actual scrapbook, you know – with actual printed pictures, of all of her adventures.

11. Put a Puzzle Together

We have done 2 big ones now.

12. Have Cocoa

Cocoa is perfect for a cool/cold day.

You can make this extra special with fun mugs and some yummy cocoa extras like marshmallows and whipped cream.

Depending on how old your daughter is, this may get a little crazy. But let her help out!

I love holiday decorating but I also want all of my kids to get into it (they are only little once) so I let them take over.

We love using the public library because it is free!

After you get back from the library, read books together.

This can either be you reading books aloud or you can sit by each other while enjoying your own books.

16. Do Something For The Season

In the spring, you can go on a puddle hunt. And don’t be fooled, you can never grow out of jumping in puddles.

During the summer make your way to the beach.

In the fall, find an apple orchard and pumpkin patch.

Don’t forget the winter! Go on a Christmas lights drive or get out and play in the snow!

17. Go For a Walk

Take a tour through your neighborhood or on your favorite walking path and let her chatter away.

If she is little and it is a nice evening, enjoy a walk to the end of your block and back while she has her pajamas on.

18. Go for a Nature Hike

Have her be on the lookout for anything in nature and she will enjoy this hike with you so much more.

19. Enjoy a Bike Ride

This could be up and down your street if your girl is little or around a few blocks if she is older.

We do not have a 4-wheeler but my dad does and he lets us take it out from time to time. My daughter giggles the entire time we are on it.

We have not done this yet but it is on our calendar to try in about a month.

Take your girl out to eat. This could be breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It doesn’t matter.

We like to go out for breakfast at our local grocery store. They are stocked with a delicious coffee shop, make their own Danishes, and we even sit in “our booth” every time.

30. Get Your Nails Done

Now friend, my daughter does not like to have polish on but this is a fabulous mother daughter activity if your daughter does.

Showing your daughter that it is okay to get pampered from time to time is huge.

31. Go Shopping

Take her shopping for something fun, groceries do not count. Give her a couple of bucks to pick out something special too.

My daughter usually picks out gum.

This could be supporting your local high school up to your favorite pro team if you are into that.

We have not made it to a pro game yet but have gone to many high school sports events and she loves it.

We had so much fun exploring a children’s museum together in the neighboring big city.

Catching a movie together is amazing and gives you something to talk about for a while afterward.

You can splurge and get something from the concession stand. Or you can be like me and sneak in a treat or 2 in your tote purse.
