AC6 Chapter 2 Walkthrough. Every mission, boss strategy, tips, gear upgrades, and more!

This is the Chapter 2 Walkthrough for AC6! This is a surprisingly short chapter with only three missions - but they're action packed!

Missable Items in AC6? Will remind you in every chapter that you can't really miss items since you can replay missions. If there actually is one you can somehow miss, I will let you know when I find out.

NEW GEAR: RECOMMENDED TO BUY

There are a few amazing pieces of gear that really help with certain kinds of encounters. Here are the super notable ones you should get ASAP.

  • SONGBIRDS Shoulder Grenade Cannon - try to buy 2x (IMPORTANT)
  • ZIMMERMAN Shotgun - try to buy 2x (IMPORTANT). Godly weapon.
  • An upgraded missile launcher - I bought 2x of the Split Missile Launcher, and 2x of the giant 10-missile launcher.
  • 2x Machine Gun setup is also nice to have, many viable options here - my recommendation is the ETSUJIN burst machine gun.
  • 2x Chainguns? Is, for me personally, too cheesy. Try it out and make that decision for yourself.

Regarding "cheesy" weapons: Just decide and police your own self as to what is cheesy and wether you wanna use it. I felt that chainguns were too much - I didn't use them at all. Zimmermans were very powerful but I still used them here and there.

Arena: Rank E - get it done!

Always do Arena ASAP as the chips for OS Tuning are very valuable.

The split missile launcher is very good in Arena, so I wasn't sad buying a pair of them. The machine gun setup is also good for cheesing certain kinds of AC's (Shotguns kind of fill this role too).

You don't really NEED any of the new gear here, but it's nice to have multiple setups. Rifle Sword can get clunk against some AC's. Get a double shotty or double MG set up and running.

SORTIE: Infiltrate Grid 086

GEAR PREP: Make sure you've purchased at least one SONGBIRDS back unit. Make sure you also have the Bazooka you just got from Balteus (44-141 JVLN ALPHA). Don't need to use 'em ASAP - it's for the boss.

I found a LOGHUNT here in a very obscure location. It’s difficult to describe where it is but, here goes. In the long bridge leading up to the objective, instead go BACKWARD away from the objective. Once you reach the end, jump over to the side and follow this “wall” and you'll find some heavy AC’s here.

  • Reach the Center of 0Grid 086’s Lower Levels
  • I dont know why I didn’t find this easily haha. There’s a path in the door you opened. You have to jump so see it, its a reddish “vent”, if you look forward and jump while inside the small square room.

-- How to beat SMART CLEANER

You “need” powerful explosive weapons, as they seem to be most effective. It has two “weakpoints”, the burning lava pot at its “head”, and the “red mouth furnace” in between the claws. For weapons, use what I mentioned earlier - SONGBIRDS and JVLN.

Aerial fighting is your friend. This fight can be summarized in two goals for you - Aim straight down INTO the “lava” to stagger it. Go down once staggered and shoot straight into the furnace "mouth". The mouth seems to be the weakest point in terms of dealing stagger damage.

Staying on the ground for long periods can prove fatal. It's weapons are incredibly powerful and not flying is playing right into its advantages over you.

    SORTIE: Eliminate the Doser Faction

Surprisingly basic mission. No LOGHUNT either. SONGBIRDS helped a lot here too.

    SORTIE: Ocean Crossing

GEAR PREP: Same as the first CH2 mission - make sure you own SONGBIRDS (2x is best). The JVLN Bazooka as well.

LASERS: Just skirt around the edges - as long as you have a roof over your head you're safe. You can also reliably dodge them, if you like. You'll be forced to do just that for a little bit as you cross the bridge anyway.

-- How to beat SEA SPIDER

The beeping sound indicates you MUST DODGE! In this case, it's a midrange laser from the turret. Being up close really helps with this. Just dodge the laser and the jumping smash attack!

Aside from that, DPS HARD. Double SONGBIRD, Bazooka, and Melee will make short work of the first phase. No need to fly or jump here, just circle up close.

Once it flies, you're in Phase 2. Being on the ground SUCKS here (reverse of the first phase). You can easily win by flying up high and shooting at it, even from directly above. Your heavy weaponry will make short work of this boss.

I reiterate - DO NOT STAY ON THE GROUND for long. Its most powerful attacks have huge ground AoE's. Its anti-air attacks are garbage in comparison.

    NEW GEAR

Don't worry about the new gear here so much. I don't know if the 10x missile launcher is unlocked here or earlier, but that's the only notable piece I can think of at this point.

Arena: Rank D - get it done!

Always do Arena ASAP as the chips for OS Tuning are very valuable.

It's against Ring Freddie that you will learn the absolute importance of that beeping noise. It means a powerful attack is coming - and you should dodge soon!

Aside from that, there's nothing special in Rank D - try to diversify your arsenal with various pocket setups. 2x Shotguns, 2x Machine Guns, 2x Rifles, double 10x Missile Launchers... be prepared for any challenge you might face!

Rank D Arena is technically part of Chapter 3, but I'll add it here anyway since CH2 is so short. Nothing notable here

Congratulations! You've made it to the end of Armored Core 6 - Chapter 2!
