Armored Core 6 Walkthrough - Chapter 5 | TeamBRG (2024)

AC6 Chapter 5 Walkthrough. Every mission, boss strategy, tips, gear upgrades, and more!

This is the Chapter 5 Walkthrough for AC6! This chapter is by far the longest one. BY FAR, haha. But, it's no less fun.

Missable Items in AC6? Will remind you in every chapter that you can't really miss items since you can replay missions. If there actually is one you can somehow miss, I will let you know when I find out.

If you're reading this Chapters walkthrough and the mission you need advice on isn't here, it may be an NG+/++ specific mission - so click on that.

Make sure you've done the whole arena, as you'll need all your OS Tuning points!

SORTIE: Take the Uninhabited Floating City

GEAR PREP: Double Laser Rifle (VE-66LRA or VE-66LRB), and Long-Range FCS (VE-21A). Any similar long range rifle should work, but these Rifles were really good! Use this to snipe enemies. For shoulders, use the heavy weaponry. SONGBIRDS / MORLEY or the antiworm VE-60SNA Stun Needle Launcher.

Stay in the middle bridge when not doing anything and RUN TOWARDS the enemies from afar! The turrets can be activated, but they kinda suck. Again ACTIVELY GO TOWARDS AND KILL THEM while they're far.

The heavy AC - burst this guy down or you’ll be swarmed by the small guys. Worst case is AGGRO IT, and beat up the little guys, then finish him off.

Reserve your shoulder weaponry for heavy stagger damage to burst this AC. You won't need your shoulder weapons for the regular enemies here anyway.

The next mission choices "Eliminate "Cinder" Carla", or "Intercept the Corporate Forces" will change all missions leading up to the end of CH5.

Scroll to whichever choice you made.

SORTIE: Eliminate “Cinder” Carla

Taking the mission "Intercept the Corporate Forces" cancels this one out, and changes the upcoming missions leading up to the end of CH5.

While there's some AC's leading up to this, and it can be a long mission - the "boss" is actually kind of annoying.

Beating Chatty and Carla: Honestly, beating up either first has its merits. Fighting Carla first is a little easier IMO, because CHATTY RUNS ALOT! Try what works for you.

More annoying than difficult IMO. Missiles. Missiles everywhere. Do the usual strategy in 2v1's - BURST your primary target.

SORTIE: Destroy the Drive Block

A continuation to "Eliminate “Cinder” Carla"

Not a particularly challenging mission, IIRC you're just looking for some objects to destroy here and there.

Boss - Arquebus Balteus VII Snail: Meh. You've fought Balteus twice by this time, maybe even thrice. The fight is largely unchanged - there's a few laser attacks here and there. I died on the first attempt? Did I even? That's how unremarkable I felt this fight was. Maybe 2 attempts max? I wish I could guide you further on this but if you've gotten to this point in the game you likely don't need advice.

SORTIE: Bring Down the Xylem

A continuation to "Eliminate “Cinder” Carla", and "Destroy the Drive Block"

A straight up boss-fight. No hassles to try and try again...

-- How to Beat Handler Walter

Kind of similar to the heavy "HC"'s. Likes to fight in midrange, but has a very telegraphed melee swing.

Avoiding his melee attack, and getting your own in is a very easy way to get the upperhand in this fight.

Not a very challenging fight all said and done. His fancy attacks have quite some downtime, and overall shouldn't pose that much of a threat. Stagger with hand weapons, punish with heavy shoulder weapons.

SORTIE: Intercept the Corporate Forces

Taking this mission cancels out “Eliminate “Cinder” Carla”, and changes the upcoming missions leading up to the end of CH5.. I highly recommend you take this mission on your first playthrough.

SORTIE: Breach the Karman Line

A continuation to "Intercept the Corporate Forces"

You have infinite “fuel” here to fly and boost. Amazingly satisfying. If you’re wondering where that next objective is - legit FLY INTO THE HORIZON AND FIGHT THE SHIPS. Pretty epic.

Good 'ol Rusty is back and stronger than every with STEEL HAZE ORTUS. Didn't pose much of a threat IMO. Good old stagger with melee weapons then strong burst damage will make short work of him.

Shut Down the Closure Satellites

The conlucsion of your decision on "Intercept the Corporate Forces", and "Breach the Karman Line"

There's nothing much to say here, except it's just a straight up boss fight.

Deal with this however you like. Cheese it. Master it. No judgments here. I personally went for a build that would make it sufficienctly challenging for me without much cheese. I used a pistol and the default sword. If you bust out the gatlings, I won't blame you - it can be a frustrating fight.

-- How to beat Ayre

There are probably more than one way to skin this cat, but fundamentally speaking HER MELEE ATTACKS ARE HER CLEAREST WEAKPOINTS.

Bait melee, then backdash, then punish with powerful shoulder weapons. Use your mainhand gun to bait dodges and get chip damage in. Do NOT save your melee weapon for stagger - you don't have that luxury. Using your own melee weapon to counter-stagger Ayre is a godlike strategy here.

At 50%ish you enter Phase 2, while seemingly worse than P1 is actually easier for me.

Back off when she transitions and be prepared for a melee strike with 2 "phantoms". Just walk backwards to dodge it. In the future WHEN SHE TELEPORTS AROUND she's prepping this attack. Be calm and just walk backwards.

Shortly after she will do an aerial dive, followed by a fly-by bombing of sorts. This attack is stupidly OP, and the only way to reliably dodge it is to BOOST AWAY. I've had mixed results with regular dodging. This is IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A HEAVY LASER. Listen to the beep and dodge twice.

After this sequence, try to kill Ayre ASAP. She becomes wildly unpredictable after some point. PUNISH HER MELEE ATTACKS is still your BEST STRATEGY here. In Phase 2, while the strikes may be deadlier - she has no Pulse Armor. Obliterate her quickly, and play aggressively or you'll see that 'Restart Mission' button a lot.

Alternatively, you can equip dual chainguns, a gigatank setup and just faceroll. Up to you...
